WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

1) Tracking Devices and Their Uses
In the theoretical part of the course, you'll gain a solid understanding of tracking devices, equipment setup, and polar alignment. With expert guidance from the Stellar Xperiences team, you'll apply this knowledge in the field—learning essential in-camera settings and shooting techniques for Milky Way and constellation photography. During hands-on practice, you'll capture images and master all the necessary adjustments directly in your camera.

2) Star Tracker Setup & Polar Alignment

Our instructors will guide you through the setup and alignment process of Star Trackers, ensuring you understand the key steps for precision tracking. The alignment process will be demonstrated using three popular devices: Star Adventurer, iOptron Sky Tracker, and Move Shoot Move.

3) Blending Techniques: Theoretical Foundations

Discover how to seamlessly merge separate sky and foreground exposures to create a natural-looking final image. You'll learn the core principles behind blending and how it enhances dynamic range and detail in your astrophotography.

4) Stacking: Theory & Fundamentals

Understand the science behind stacking and how it improves image quality by increasing the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). Learn about different types of noise, calibration frames, and the step-by-step process of stacking for cleaner, sharper astrophotos.

5) Stacking Software: PC & Mac Users

  • Sequator (Windows Users): Learn the functions, panel structure, and workflow of Sequator, a powerful tool for stacking astrophotographs.

  • Starry Landscape Stacker (Mac Users): Understand the panel layout, settings, and best practices for stacking images effectively on macOS.

By the end of the course, you'll have a complete grasp of both the theoretical and practical aspects of using a Star Tracker, blending images, and stacking for optimal Milky Way photography results.
