WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

This course is designed for those who want to start from scratch with Wide-Angle Astrophotography. You’ll gain knowledge about equipment selection, shooting plans, and settings for capturing wide-angle astrophotography, as well as a solid understanding of its theoretical concepts. Together with our expert team, you will apply the theoretical knowledge you’ve gained in the field, completing your learning with shooting and post-processing to create final photographs.

Theoretical Lessons

  • Equipment Selection: Learn the essential criteria for selecting cameras, lenses, and supporting gear for wide-angle astrophotography. Understand how to choose the best equipment and become familiar with the tools you’ll be using for your shots.

  • Astrophotography Planning: Master the use of planning software for capturing the Milky Way and star clusters. Learn how to plan your shoots based on your equipment, location, and the time of year.

  • Camera Settings & Techniques: Understand key camera settings for wide-angle astrophotography, including exposure, ISO, and focus. Explore different shooting techniques to capture stunning images of the night sky.

Practical Lessons

  • Location Scouting & Planning: During daylight hours, visit chosen shooting locations to explore composition and framing techniques for night sky photography. Learn how to analyze the sky and plan your shots effectively.

  • Photography in the Field: Apply your learned settings and techniques to capture stunning wide-angle astrophotos with guidance from experts. Put theory into practice as you shoot under the night sky.

  • Post-Processing: Learn to process your astrophotographs using Lightroom Classic, focusing on enhancing colors, details, and contrast to transform your images into breathtaking final shots.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

  • A DSLR or mirrorless camera capable of long exposures (Full Frame / APS-C)

  • Wide-Angle Lens
    (Full Frame: 35mm or wider) (APS-C: 24mm or wider)

  • Tripod

  • Extra Batteries

  • Memory Cards (It's recommended to have backups)

  • Headlamp (with red light) and extra battery

  • Warm Clothing (As the photo shoots are at night, temperatures may drop even in summer)

  • Hiking Boots (The course requires walking in field conditions, so suitable footwear is advised)

  • Personal Insurance (Stellar Xperiences is not responsible for any accidents. Please review the Terms and Conditions)

  • Laptop (Must have Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, and Stellarium installed)

  • Personal health items, your medications etc.

RULES

1. It is forbidden to light a fire in any area during the course.

2. Participants must be extremely cautious not to leave any trash in nature. Before leaving, each participant is responsible for collecting all trash in the area and leaving it as they found it.

3. Participants must adhere to the course schedule.

​

4. Participants must move as a group in the areas for exploration and photography and remain within the designated boundaries.

​

5. Bringing food and beverages from outside to the accommodation area is prohibited.

​

6. The use of any light other than red LED lights in the observation and photography areas is prohibited.

​

7. Consuming alcoholic beverages during theoretical and practical training is prohibited.
